An exquisite antique Victorian Scottish knot brooch, made Circa 1860. It consists of four silver rings, tightly interlaced to create a fabulous knot with detailed foliate engraving on top, along with six colourful agates, displaying various earthy colours and patterns which are distinct to each stone.
Scottish jewellery grew in popularity in the mid-1800s and was a personal favourite of Queen Victoria’s. Her frequent trips to her Scottish Castle Balmoral saw her return with many beautiful Scottish souvenirs and made them a highly desirable and sought-after accessory across Britain.
It’s a great collector’s piece, in excellent condition and would look wonderful pinned to a lapel.
